WEDDING FILMING FAQs
WHEN DO YOU ARRIVE?
We would aim to arrive two hours before your ceremony to get set up. We would let you know when we are setting off/have arrived to provide peace of mind on the day.
CAN WE MEET YOU BEFOREHAND?
Yes of course. I can either come to you or you can come to me.
DO YOU NEED TO PUT A MICROPHONE ON US?
We do usually put a small microphone in the grooms pocket. This means you'll be able to hear yourselves clearly on the video. The microphone is small and discreet and grooms often forget they are wearing it. It will make no difference to the ceremony for you or your guests. It's purely so we can capture your voices clearly.
HOW FAR ARE YOU WILLING TO TRAVEL
I'm available to work worldwide. My travel and parking costs are always added in on top and are always calculated fairly. If we're working overseas I'd ask for you to pay for my flights and accommodation before the shoot takes place. If we feel an overnighter is needed to make it to a shoot then I'd request for that to be covered as well. This will be made clear and communicated at the time of booking if this is needed.
DO YOU NEED TO SEE THE VENUE BEFOREHAND?
It is preferable yes. I would usually attend the wedding rehearsal with some basic equipment just to see what we're dealing with ahead of time if the venue is within an achievable distance.
HOW MANY OF YOU ARE THERE?
Two or three max. I usually bring myself and one other person along with me for filming a ceremony. Sometimes I have people with me getting work experience and three people can be very handy to capturing the best results.
IS IT DISCREET?
We try to be as discreet as possible. We use radio mics which are easily concealed and hidden to capture the sound and try and stay out of the way as much as possible. Once the ceremony has started we hardly move. I do usually stand up at the front with you to get the shot of your faces, but staying out of the way is a top priority for me so if there is a way to get that shot more discreetly, I will.
WHAT FACTORS INCREASE THE PRICE?
For weddings my prices are a lot more clear cut. I always charge my travel time on top. If you wanted us to film other things as well as the ceremony this would increase the price. Alternative methods of delivering the file to you would increase the price.
FOOD
Please provide us with a meal. Weddings are long days often away from any shops. If impossible please let us know in advance so we can plan ahead.
WHEN DO I PAY?
I take a 20% deposit at the time of booking. If you need to rearrange then that's fine. If you want to cancel then I keep the deposit. I ask for full remaining payment via bank transfer once you have viewed the first edit of your film and before I send files or make any amendments.
TURNAROUND
My usual turn around for video work is two weeks. However I like to spend more time making sure that the edit is completely perfect with weddings. You should expect it within a month.
DELIVERY
I can get the file to you however you want it. Any additional costs for DVDs etc are added in on top. My preferred method is a cute personalised USB stick that you'll receive in the post and a link to the video and file online.
EDIT REVISIONS
In the very unlikely event that you would like any shots taken out or any changes to your wedding video. Just ask - we all want this to be right. There will always be other shots at certain points. Please send me a note with any changes on and I will work through them.
