I make your idea for your music video come alive. I bring basic lighting to make it look cool, film and edit. This price is based on a one day performance driven shoot. I don't put hours on a day. If I feel it's achievable within the time then I'll quote at this price. I'm also not about to cut a shoot short. Once we've gone through the idea I'll figure out how long I feel we'd need to make it incredible. I work very quick and most of the time we'll get ideas finished in a day. However in the past I've left shoots thinking 'oh that would have been better if we had a little more time' - and I want to avoid this going forward.

Thanks so much! I'll be in touch in the next couple of days.
FAQ'S
DO YOU TAKE A DEPOSIT?
Yes. With all bookings with new clients I take a 20% deposit. This is just to secure the booking. If you need to rearrange then that's fine. A lot of shoots are weather dependent and this country is famous for being unpredictable. Rearranging is ok right up to the shoot. If I have literally set off or arrived then I'd ask for my travel money - (again never happened but covering myself here!). If you want to cancel completely after paying the deposit then I would retain the deposit. On the extremely rare occasion of me needing to cancel (it hasn't happened yet but I get unwell like everyone else!) then you can either cancel and get your deposit refunded or rearrange for another time.
WHEN / HOW DO I PAY?
All payments are invoiced for and through the bank please. I don't like charging people on the day or half now half later etc. I want to keep the day all about the music and I don't want either of us thinking about money in this time. I ask for full payment once you guys have seen a rough edit of the video in question. The payment will need to have been completed before I make any changes that you may have.
WHAT TURNAROUND CAN I EXPECT?
Look. I'm really quick and I run a tight ship with my editing. I started out shooting videos for bands on the road and turning the video round the next day before the next show. I do have a life now though and sometimes I get very busy. It'll be clearly communicated with you on the day. I usually say, it'll take about this long to get a first edit to you but it could take up to this long so don't worry if it is. Normal response is you should have a first edit within a week or so but it could take up to 2. (I don't think it's ever been more than 3 weeks) - It just depends on how many other things I'm working on at the time.
CAN I HAVE THE RAW FOOTAGE?
Always a bit of an uncomfortable one. It depends. It's always best to talk about this one at the outset. There's an additional charge. How much depends on what we've shot and how we shot it. Music Vids etc is generally fine and not much because everyone likes extra content and bonus features. It's really cool when you guys edit little behind the scenes videos from it which is lovely to see! I wouldn't charge much for this. Showreels is where the line gets a bit blurry. Sometimes we record full songs on the showreels and releasing my RAW footage will mean that you guys have the opportunity to make more videos. Say if we shot a six song showreel and you paid for a Showreel not six full songs AND a showreel then I wouldn't send the RAWs without a significant extra charge! But if you just want to see the footage that didn't get used and want to make some behind the scenes - fair enough! (It is worth saying that if you then want me to add extra bits in to your final edit then I might charge)

FACTORS THAT CAN INCREASE THE COST
Everyone like a cheap deal. So for total transparency here are some of the things that can increase the price if you want to keep spending down.
Narratives & Performance
Ok so sometimes I do sometimes I don't charge more for this, it all depends on if it's feasible within a day or not and the complexity of it all. We need to make sure we pull it off! I'd generally say if we're doing something really narrative driven with performance as well then lets split those up and make both elements better. We'll get a better end product that'll be worth the extra money.
Working at Night
Anything that involves working before 9am and after 9pm will add a cost. I've done shoots that started at 3am in the past and will charge a bit more for anything that'll massacre my sleeping pattern!
Lots of Ideas
I just want to make sure every part of the video is executed as best as possible. If I feel we've got a bit too much on (has only happened once or twice) then I'll suggest a two day shoot. But you will know way ahead of time.
Travel & Parking
With every shoot I do I add on my travel cost. It is always 'X' plus travel. Total transparency; all I do is google maps the distance, times it by two and whack it into a fuel calculator online and round it up to the nearest five. If we're anywhere near Manchester it won't be much. Parking; I keep receipts, just pay those if we have to pay anywhere. You'll know how much travel will be ahead of time. Parking is on the day.
Flights / Accommodation
It is worth saying there are discounts available if you want to shoot abroad. Flights are really expensive and I'm not out here to rinse you of your cash. If we're starting early and the location is more than two hours from Manchester then I might ask for accommodation. I can either find the cheapest AirBnb or I can crash on a sofa / spare bed. I'm a touring musician myself so anything will do. Just bare in mind I'll need to be rested up enough for shooting. (3am starting shoots creeping back to haunt me)
Idea Generation / Location Finding
Ok so I like to know what's going on. I regularly tweak ideas (if we all agree) and have suggestions for things that will improve a concept. I'm not going to just show up and be like "what we shooting?" Clients usually send over a brief or a storyboard that I convert into a video with text over the music where things will happen. So we're going to be going into the shoot on the same page. We'll have talked it all through, it'll be clear in both our heads. However, sadly I am just too busy these days to plan shoots for people without charging more for it. I'm mainly talking logistics here. This is probably the factor that will push the price up the most. Of course, if you need help with anything I will help you. No charge, we all want this to be good. But if you need me to spend ages contacting locations, sourcing props and drafting detailed storyboards etc then I need to charge for that time. If you want me to I can come up with a treatment, but it'll cost more.
